The weather in Australia, and yes, I know, much of the world, has been extreme lately. Yesterday it was 46.4C in Melbourne, apparently the hottest temperature ever recorded. And there have been fires. People have lost lives, homes, crops.
Nature is not always as beautiful and serene as the picture above.
It makes me think of a chant I learnt at KYM in 2007 – I believe it is a Native American chant, a reminder that we are of the earth, it is not of us.
Mother I feel you under my feet
Mother I feel your heart beat
Mother I feel you under my feet
Mother I feel your heart beat
Heya heya heya heya heya heya
Heya heya heya heya heya
We are one
With the Earth
Mother Earth
Mother Earth
Small comfort, I know, to those who are hurting right now. But some comfort, maybe? In times of trouble, I always find myself returning to the idea that, much as I would like to be, I am not the sole architect of my destiny. I find this immensely, if perversely, comforting.

Light Up Your Life

this is so beautiful, thanks for sharing lovely. It’s deinitely a scary time but I agree with you – it’s good to feel that connection with everything around us. x
Beautiful. Life is a mystery to be embraced and not fought against. To trust in a divine presence takes us out of the ego’s desire to have things a certain way. Not always easy to be in this state of faith or surrender, but when we are there everything is okay — even the sorrow. Our minds cannot comprehend this with analysis or logic, we simply can be and let be. This is true peace. Samadhi.
