My favourite mantra meditation

The older (and freaking busier) I get, the bigger the role meditation plays in my daily practice. My favourite technique is mantra meditation: focusing my mind on words that have meaning for me.

Teachnically, the word ‘mantra’ refers to a chant that has its origins in the Hindu Vedas, but these days it’s common parlance to call anything repeated with focus a mantra.

So.

My favourite mantra?

Opening.

Releasing.

I’ve been using it for YEARS!

I open to the light in my heart.

I release all that may be blocking it. (Or at the very least, soften around it.)

I teach it at least once a day, usually far more often.

I love it!

I made you a picture to show you how much I love it…

The relief from thinking (worrying) that a few minutes of this gives? Is immeasurable, and priceless.

Interesting mantra. When I used to meditate I said one phrase over and over. Eventually I was able to focus on it so well that it put me in a deep meditative state that was intoxicating. I should try this method.
