How to stop comparing in yoga class

You know you shouldn’t do it, right? But it’s sooooo tempting, when you catch a peek, out of the corner of your eye, of someone doing something that you just can’t. Like, no way.

Every body is different people. I say this a lot, but it’s really worth educating yourself about. You will never be anyone other than yourself. Why bother trying?

We all have different skeletons, and different ways of using our muscles, and different shapes. I for one, am pretty flat up top, but my booty practically has its own municipality. Which made my teen years a constant search for tops that were long enough to cover my caboose. But it also means I don’t have anything getting in the way of my forward bends. If you get my drift.

So, in the interests of not comparing, here are some gems from my archives about, well, comparative anatomy.

Educate yourself about how your particular body moves, accept where you are at right now. If you want to work towards a pose that challenges you, totally go for it. As long as your motivation is to be a better YOU.

Thanks, sweets! I love how regular you are with your blog reading, too. I’m building my new site at the moment and it’s consuming all my time – i’m behind on, like, everything. Laundry, blog reading, course work….

But my site will be a better version of itself after, so it’s worth it ;)
