Ever wanted to just curl up into a ball? There’s a pose for that.
Balasana, or Child pose.
If you like it, it’s a deeply nurturing place to go and hide from the world for a while, curl in on yourself.

If you have tight hips, knee or ankle issues, osteoporosis or spinal issues, you may prefer to lie on your back and hug your knees. If you feel like your belly or (ahem) chest gets in the way, part your knees nice and wide to make space. I only do it that way, actually. Otherwise I find I can’t really breathe.
